Rental terms
Terms of Service
Last updated: June 11, 2026
1. Acceptance
Welcome to IXRental. By accessing the website, searching for a vehicle, making a booking, paying online, managing an order or contacting support, you agree to these Terms of Service, the price and rule information shown in the booking flow, our Privacy Policy, the applicable payment provider terms and any local rental agreement that applies at pickup or booking confirmation.
If you do not agree with these terms, do not continue using the website booking service or submit a booking.
Payment success does not by itself mean that a rental booking is confirmed. A booking is confirmed only after the payment result and the rental supplier or rental system confirmation are both complete.
2. Service role
IXRental operates a website booking channel for travelers renting vehicles in supported destinations. The website may provide location search, vehicle or plan display, price and rule summaries, booking submission, online payment, booking lookup, cancellation requests and support entry points.
Actual vehicle handoff, pickup checks, vehicle use, return inspection, damage handling, deposit handling, traffic violation handling, roadside assistance and mandatory local rules may be performed by IXRental, IXRental affiliates, local fleet operators, stores, suppliers or their service partners.
If the booking page, these terms, a supplier rental agreement or mandatory local law conflict, the following order generally applies:
- Mandatory local law and regulatory requirements.
- The formal rental agreement or supplier terms accepted at pickup for pickup, vehicle use, return and vehicle responsibility.
- The order snapshot and rule snapshot saved when the user confirms payment.
- These website terms for website booking, payment, lookup, cancellation request and website service use.
3. Booking conditions
When you search or book, you must provide true, accurate and complete information, including pickup location, return location, pickup and return time, driver's license issuing country or region, main driver name, age, contact details, optional protection, add-ons and any other information required for the booking.
The main driver's name must match the passport, driving license or travel document used at pickup. Incorrect name, document, age, nationality, license issuing country or contact information may cause the booking to fail, pickup to be refused, additional fees, cancellation fees or failed support contact.
If you submit information for an additional driver, passenger or travel companion, you confirm that you have permission to do so and that the relevant person understands the information may be used for booking fulfillment, pickup checks, safety, incident handling or legal compliance.
4. Vehicle availability
Vehicle images, brands, models, colors, specifications, seats, luggage capacity, transmission, fuel type, electric vehicle type and example vehicles usually describe a vehicle group or class. Unless the page clearly says that a specific model is guaranteed, they do not guarantee a specific brand, model, color, configuration or plate number.
Availability, prices, fees, protection options, equipment, store rules and cancellation rules may change based on time, location, inventory, supplier and system status. Before payment, IXRental refreshes the price and rules where the booking flow supports a final quote. If they change, you must review and confirm the updated information before continuing.
If a supplier cannot provide the selected vehicle or an equivalent vehicle, IXRental or the supplier may offer a substitute, help rebook, cancel the order or route the case to support. Any substitute vehicle, fee adjustment or compensation follows the order snapshot, supplier policy and applicable law.
5. Prices and fees
The website may show several types of amounts. Review each amount before payment.
| Fee type | Meaning |
|---|---|
Total due today |
The amount paid online now. It is intended to match the payment provider charge. |
Pay at pickup |
Amounts that may be paid to the store or supplier at pickup or during the rental. |
Estimated total |
The current estimated total, which may include rental, taxes, service fees, protection, equipment, one-way return, night service and other fees. |
Deposit hold |
A pre-authorization or temporary hold. It is not rent and is not included in Total due today. |
| Optional add-ons | Optional protection upgrades, child seats, navigation devices or other equipment and services. |
| Not included | Examples include fuel, charging, tolls, fines, parking, post-rental damage, late return, cleaning or other usage-based charges. |
All prices, currencies, taxes, add-ons and prepaid or pay-at-pickup rules are governed by the order snapshot that you review and confirm before payment. If you change time, location, vehicle, protection, add-ons, driver details or other booking conditions, prices and availability may be recalculated.
A website price summary is not a final invoice, receipt, payment provider statement or local rental agreement.
6. Payment and status
The website may use Stripe, PayPal or another third-party payment provider to process online payments. Payment providers may independently collect and process payment information. IXRental does not store complete card numbers, CVV codes or full payment credentials.
Payment success means the payment provider returned a trusted successful payment result. It does not automatically mean that the rental booking has been confirmed. IXRental must also create or confirm the rental order with the rental system or supplier and update the booking status based on that result.
If payment fails, is canceled, expires or has an unknown result, the website may show retry, wait, lookup or support options. When the result is unknown, the amount or currency conflicts, payment records conflict or the rental order is not confirmed, do not make duplicate payments for the same order unless the website clearly creates a new payment session and states that payment can be retried.
You agree that IXRental, payment providers, risk providers, finance teams and support teams may process payment references, amounts, currencies, payment statuses, refund statuses and transaction records for booking fulfillment, reconciliation, refunds, disputes, anti-fraud and compliance.
7. Booking confirmation
A booking usually requires all of the following before it is confirmed:
- You have completed the required information and rule confirmation.
- The payment provider has returned a trusted successful payment result, or the order rules allow payment at pickup.
- The rental system or supplier has returned a booking confirmation, confirmation number or equivalent confirmed status.
- The website has saved the order snapshot, price snapshot, rule snapshot and rental system mapping.
If the website shows "booking processing", your payment or order confirmation is still being processed. Wait for the status update or contact support. Do not submit the same payment or booking again unless the website clearly asks you to do so.
Booking confirmation messages, order details and support lookup rely on the order snapshot saved at payment time, not later changes to live rules.
8. Cancellation and refunds
Cancellation rules may vary by destination, supplier, vehicle class, rate plan, protection option, pickup time, payment method and promotion. Before payment, review any free cancellation deadline, cancellation fee, non-refundable rule, no-show rule and refund explanation.
You may submit a cancellation request from the order details page or support entry point. The system may automatically evaluate whether the booking can be canceled based on booking status, payment status, rental system status, pickup time, cancellation rules and refund rules. If cancellation is approved, IXRental or the backend service may call the rental system to cancel the booking and then handle refund status based on the payment state.
A canceled booking does not mean that a refund has already arrived. Whether a refund occurs, the refund amount, currency, fees and timing depend on the order rules, cancellation result, payment provider, bank or card issuer, finance processing and local law.
If you do not arrive at the agreed pickup time, fail to complete pickup, do not present valid documents, do not provide an acceptable payment card, do not satisfy age, license or store rules, or otherwise cannot complete pickup, the booking may be treated as no-show or non-fulfillable. Cancellation fees, no-show fees or non-refundable consequences may apply.
9. Driver requirements
The main driver and each additional driver must satisfy destination, store, vehicle and supplier requirements, including as applicable:
- Minimum age and driving experience requirements.
- A valid driving license that is not suspended, revoked, restricted or expired.
- An International Driving Permit, official or certified translation, passport, identity document or other material required by the destination.
- A name that matches the booking and documents.
- An accepted payment card, deposit method or other store-required material at pickup.
Website document guidance is a pre-booking prompt. It does not replace local law, supplier review or final store decision. If you cannot provide valid documents or do not meet driver qualifications, the store may refuse vehicle handoff and the applicable order rules will determine fees and refunds.
10. Deposit and cards
A supplier or store may require the main driver to provide a credit card, debit card or other accepted payment method for a deposit hold, pre-authorization, pay-at-pickup amount, post-rental charge, fine, damage, toll or other payable amount.
Deposit amount, currency, release timing and accepted payment method vary by destination, supplier, vehicle class, protection option, rental period, user profile and payment institution. IXRental displays deposit information before payment where supplier data is available, but the order snapshot, store rules and supplier rental agreement control the final requirements.
Deposit release is not always instant. Card issuers, payment networks, suppliers and banks may take different amounts of time to release or display funds.
11. Protection and liability
A booking may include basic protection and may offer optional protection upgrades. Coverage, excess or deductible, limits, exclusions, roadside assistance, third-party liability, vehicle damage, theft, tires, glass, underbody, loss of use and other terms follow the order snapshot, protection explanation, supplier rental agreement and applicable law.
Unless the booking page and formal rental agreement clearly say so, no protection is "full insurance", "zero excess", "zero risk" or a release from all liability.
If you violate rental terms, local law, supplier rules or prohibited use restrictions, protection may be invalid and you may be responsible for vehicle damage, third-party damage, fines, roadside assistance, towing, loss of use, administrative fees, legal fees and other losses.
12. Vehicle use
You and any authorized driver must use the vehicle safely, legally and carefully, and follow local traffic laws, parking rules, environmental rules, child seat requirements and seat belt requirements.
Unless clearly allowed, you must not:
- Allow an unregistered or unauthorized driver to drive.
- Sublease, lend, pledge, sell, modify or disassemble the vehicle.
- Use the vehicle for illegal activity, racing, testing, off-road use, commercial passenger or cargo service, towing or hazardous goods transport.
- Drive under alcohol, drugs, fatigue, without a valid license or with invalid documents.
- Take the vehicle outside the permitted area, across a border or onto prohibited roads.
- Smoke in the vehicle, damage it, intentionally create odor or cause serious soiling.
- Ignore dashboard warnings, tire problems, low fuel or battery, faults or recall notices.
- Violate the local supplier rental agreement or order rules.
13. Pickup and return
You must complete pickup according to the confirmed time, location, store, pickup method and requirements. At pickup, you may need to present the booking confirmation number, passport or identity document, driving license, International Driving Permit, translation, payment card, deposit method, flight or arrival information or other material.
You must return the vehicle at the agreed time, location and method, and ensure the vehicle, keys, equipment, documents, charging cards, child seats, navigation devices and other supplied items are returned completely. The vehicle must be in substantially the same condition as pickup, except for ordinary reasonable wear.
Late return, one-way return, after-hours return, failure to return keys as instructed, low fuel or battery, heavy soiling, lost equipment or an unverified return may create additional fees, fines, towing, loss of use or damage responsibility.
14. Fuel, charging and tolls
Fuel, charging, mileage limits, extra mileage fees, tolls, parking fees, traffic fines, electronic toll service fees, administrative fees and other rental-period charges are handled according to the order snapshot, supplier rules and local law.
If the vehicle is electric, you are responsible for monitoring battery level, range, charging method, charging equipment, charging cards, return battery level and charging station rules. Fees may apply for insufficient battery, improper charging bay parking, charging equipment damage or failure to return equipment as instructed.
15. Incidents and damage
If an accident, vehicle damage, breakdown, theft, traffic violation, fine, impound, towing, roadside assistance event or third-party claim occurs during the rental, immediately:
- Protect personal safety and contact local emergency services if needed.
- Report to police or complete accident records if local law requires.
- Contact IXRental support, the store, supplier or roadside assistance channel.
- Do not admit liability, privately settle or waive insurance or supplier procedures without instruction.
- Keep photos, police reports, incident materials, repair or tow records and other necessary evidence.
- Cooperate with the supplier, insurer, support team and authorities.
If you fail to report promptly, fail to cooperate, violate law or violate rental terms, protection may become invalid and you may be responsible for related losses.
16. Self-service
Some stores or vehicles may support self-service pickup, remote unlock, key boxes, online document review, mobile pickup guidance, return photos, remote vehicle status or digital support.
Self-service availability depends on store, vehicle, booking status, payment status, document review, network, device, vehicle system and local rules. If self-service fails, follow the page prompts, switch to counter pickup where available or contact support.
Vehicles may include GPS, driving records, remote status, connected vehicle systems or manufacturer-connected services. Related data processing follows the Privacy Policy, supplier rules, vehicle manufacturer policies and applicable law.
17. Orders and notices
You may look up a booking using a confirmation number and last name, account login or another verification method. To protect privacy, a failed lookup will not reveal whether a booking exists or which contact details are correct.
IXRental may send transactional notices to the order contact, including booking confirmed, booking processing, payment failed, pickup reminder, cancellation request received, cancellation result, support handling or receipt-related messages. The notice language follows the notification_language saved in the order snapshot where supported.
Transactional notices are not marketing emails and generally do not include marketing unsubscribe controls. Marketing preferences are managed separately under the Privacy Policy.
18. User materials
Notes, images, documents, incident materials, fee dispute materials, lost item information or reviews submitted through the website, support, forms or order details must be truthful and lawful and must not infringe others' rights or include illegal content.
IXRental may use these materials as needed to handle bookings, review documents, resolve disputes, provide support, improve service, comply with legal obligations or protect rights. Documents, payment, incident and sensitive materials are handled under the Privacy Policy and internal access rules.
19. Third-party services
If natural disaster, severe weather, war, terrorism, epidemic, strike, government action, traffic control, system failure, payment provider failure, supplier failure, vehicle recall, previous renter late return, accident, theft, legal change or another event outside IXRental's reasonable control causes a booking to be delayed, changed, unavailable or canceled, IXRental will help handle the matter under the order rules but does not promise liability beyond applicable law and order rules.
The website may link to or use third-party services, including payment providers, maps, support tools, analytics tools, supplier systems, vehicle manufacturer systems, insurance services or roadside assistance services. Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies.
20. Liability limits
To the extent permitted by applicable law, IXRental is not responsible beyond the order rules and legal requirements for:
- Incorrect, incomplete or outdated information provided by a user.
- User failure to satisfy license, age, document, payment card, deposit or local pickup requirements.
- Actions or omissions of suppliers, stores, payment providers, banks, insurers, roadside assistance providers, map providers or other third-party services.
- User violation of traffic law, rental agreement, order rules or safe driving obligations.
- Fines, damage, accidents, third-party claims, loss of use, towing, assistance or post-rental charges arising from vehicle use.
- Indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential losses, unless applicable law prohibits the limitation.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
21. Changes
IXRental may update these terms due to changes in business, law, regulation, payment processing, supplier policy or product features. Updated terms will be posted on the website. For confirmed bookings, the terms version, order snapshot and rule snapshot saved when you paid or confirmed the booking will usually apply unless local law or the parties agree otherwise.
22. Contact
If you have questions about a booking, cancellation, pickup, return, fee, deposit, protection, incident, roadside assistance or these terms, use the Help / Contact page or the support entry point in your order details.
